The Museo di Delle Culture di Milano (hereafter Mudec) offers the content published on this website (hereafter Site) in pursuance of its statutory mission to promote the knowledge and study of its holdings. By using the Mudec website, the user unreservedly accepts the conditions that make it usable. The Mudec reserves the right to revise these conditions at any time and with no prior notice. Any revision of the conditions shall come into immediate effect. Users who do not accept the conditions obtaining at the time of access are requested not to access the Mudec website. The Mudec cannot be held responsible for the availability, content, products and services offered through the contents published on the Site or for any damages or losses incurred as a result of their use. Nor is the Mudec responsible for the ways in which and purposes for which third parties may gather and process personal data.


The Mudec shall bear no responsibility for damages of any kind resulting from access and/or lack of access to the Site or from use of the same. The laws and regulations of the Italian state and the European Community are applicable to all disputes regarding use of the Site. The users further agrees that the court of Milan shall have sole jurisdiction as regards all the matters addressed in the present document. By using this site, the user implicitly accepts all the terms and conditions set forth here.


On the Site, all the content (texts, audio and video material, images, products and services, hereafter referred to collectively as Content) accessible on or through it are placed at the disposal of users without in any way endorsing the uses to which the said users may put them. The rights as regards use of the images of works of art exhibited on every page of the Site belong to their respective owners. Whosoever downloads, uses or transmits Content found on or through the Site is in no way exempted from obligations with respect to the said owners of rights to Content. This does not apply to the texts, images and audio and video content present in the press office of the Site, which are available to all professional journalists, exclusively for journalistic use and within the limitations of the freedom of the press and the necessity and accuracy of information.


The Site can contain or be linked to content created or uploaded by other parties (hereafter Third-party Content). Such Third-party Content does not necessarily represent the opinions of the Mudec, its management, employees and collaborators, nor does it necessarily comply with the criteria for the protection of privacy obeyed by the Content present on the Site. The Mudec does not control, monitor, guarantee or endorse Third-party Content in any way whatsoever. In no case shall the Mudec bear either direct or indirect responsibility for damages or losses caused or believed to have been caused by the use of or reference to Content accessed on or through the Site. The Mudec is in no way responsible for fraudulent activities resulting from the downloading or use of Content present on the Site or accessible through it. The Content present on the Site can be changed or removed with no prior notification.


The coordinated graphic elements, names, trademarks and logos appearing on the Site are trademarks, registered or unregistered, belonging to the Mudec and cannot be used without written authorization from the Mudec. The trademarks of other parties may also appear on the Site and again cannot be used without written authorization from the Mudec.


The images and the audio and video content present on the Site and especially in the press office are available to all professional journalists, exclusively for journalistic use and within the limitations of the freedom of the press and the necessity and accuracy of information.


In accordance with art. 13 of D.Lgs. no. 196/2003 (code governing the protection of personal data), users are hereby informed of the following points. The Mudec gathers the personal data of users accessing the Site solely for the purpose of improving the cultural services it offers and aiming them more precisely at users in accordance with its mission and articles of association. The cases in which the Mudec may gather and use the personal data of users are listed below.


Subscribing to the Mudec newsletter makes it possible to maintain regular contact with the museum’s activities, to make use of exclusive content and to receive prompt notification of events of interest to users. In order to register it is necessary to provide personal data that may include name and surname, a password and an email address. The information provided can be modified at any time.


The Mudec reserves the right to request personal data in order to manage the bookings and other services connected with visits to the museum, either through the Site or through the sites of other parties.

Promotional material

With the user’s consent, the Mudec reserves the right to offer through the Site and the instruments connected with it the direct dispatch of informative and promotional material by post, fax or e-mail, such as magazines, leaflets and invitations to exhibitions, conferences, seminars and other events. With the user’s consent, such personal data will be inserted into a database of addresses. Users can at any time exercise their rights under the terms of art. 7 of D. Lgs. no. 196/2003, in particular the right to request the deletion for their data and refuse to permit processing of the same for the purposes of sending the said material. The personal data of users are processed when necessary for the following purposes: to fulfil obligations imposed by laws and regulations or European directives, especially in connection with obligations regarding civil law and taxation (e.g. the issuing of fiscal documents and bookkeeping); in connection with performance of the Mudec’s institutional and economic activities, e.g. developing lists and statistics for internal use, reports and the exercise of rights.


Advertising on Google

The Mudec reserves the right to use the personal data of visitors in order to activate some or all of the Google advertising services, such as remarketing, Google Display Network reports, the DoubleClick Campaign Manager, and Google Analytics reports on demographic data and interests. The Mudec may in particular use remarketing with Google Analytics to promote its products or online services. The Mudec may authorize third-party suppliers, including Google, to publish advertisements on websites. The Mudec and third-party suppliers, including Google, could use both proprietary cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) in order to inform, optimize and publish advertisements on the basis of the previous visits of the users to our website. The Mudec and third-party suppliers, including Google, may use both proprietary cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) in order to determine the correlation between visits to the website and the publishing of advertisements, other uses of advertising services and interactions with such publications and advertising services. The processing of data is carried out on paper and/or with the aid of electronic instruments designed to record, manage and transmit the said data on logical bases closely related to the said purposes. The data are handled only by the Mudec personnel responsible for processing or those carrying out any occasional operations of maintenance. The data of users who have consented to their processing are not made available to any third party by the Mudec but may be communicated either completely or partially, if necessary, to the following: - administrative bodies, authorities and public agencies, both national and foreign, in accordance with the terms of laws, regulations or European directives; - to all physical and/or legal persons, public and private, in cases where communication is necessary or useful with a view to the aforesaid purposes, such as companies involved in the transmission and sorting of correspondence, companies providing services in the e-mail sector and transport companies; banks with which the Mudec is in relations of a financial nature, consultants or service companies and their collaborators that perform specific assignments on behalf of the Mudec, in compliance with the obligations and rights envisaged by law, such as legal and financial consultants and auditors. Moreover, in connection with the above purposes, the personal data of users may become known to internal or external employees of the Mudec, such as administrative personnel (accounting, secretarial services, etc), press office and library personnel, and the technicians responsible for maintenance of the Mudec computer network.


Data on browsing In the normal course of operations, the information systems and software procedures involved in the running of the Site acquire some personal data whose transmission involves the use of Internet protocols of communication. While such information is not gathered in order to be associated with any identified parties, it could by its very nature make it possible to identify users through processing and cross-reference with data held by other parties. This category includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers employed by users accessing the Site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to present the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the state of the response given by the server (completed, error, etc.) and other parameters related to the user’s computer operating system and environment. These data are used solely in order to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the Site and monitor its correct operation and are deleted immediately after processing. They could also be used to ascertain responsibility in the case of hypothetical computer crimes against the Site. Apart from this possible use, data on web contacts exist at present for no longer than seven days. Data supplied voluntarily by the user for the use of services The processing to which data will be subjected will be carried out in accordance with existing legislation exclusively for the purpose of communications on the events organized in paper-based or electronic form. The data gathered for the said purposes are recorded and processed with the aid or electronic and paper-based means capable of ensuring the confidentiality and safety of the same. The provision of the said data is essential in order for the user to receive communications on the events organized. The consent given is understood to remain valid until such time as it is expressly revoked by e-mail sent to or by letter addressed to the Mudec. Cookies No use is made of cookies for the transmission of information of a personal nature and no use is made of persistent or tracking cookies of any type. The use of session cookies (which are not persistently stored on the user’s computer and disappear when the browser is closed), strictly limited to the transmission of session ID codes (numbers randomly generated by the server), is essential to safe and efficient use of the site. The session cookies used in the Site make no use of other techniques potentially prejudicial to the confidentiality of the user’s browsing history and do not make it possible to obtain the user’s personal data. The provision of data and consequences in the case of refusal The provision of personal data is optional unless required in order to comply with legal or contractual obligations. Refusal on the part of the user to provide the said data or permit processing of the same may make it impossible for the Mudec to send informative, promotional and advertising material. Such refusal has no effect on the other services provided by the Mudec. User’s rights Users enjoy the rights laid down in art. 7 of D. Lgs. 196/2003, including the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of personal data, the right to have their data updated or rectified, the right to have their data deleted or transformed into anonymous form, the right to block data illegally processed, the right to refuse the processing of their personal data on legitimate grounds as well as the right to refuse the processing of their personal data for the purposes of sending informative, promotional and advertising material. The said rights can be exercised with respect to the data controller.
