Coloris by Pascale Marthine Tayou catches our attention because of its size and colors. Located near one of the park entrances, the work piques curiosity of passerby standing out against the skyscrapers in the Citylife area.
The work looks like a forest of poles of different colors, with ovoid elements on the top. The metal pipes are fixed on a concrete base on which a planisphere is designed. In an infinite tension between earth and sky, colored meteors seem to glide gently on a plateau that replicates seas and continents.
The bright colors chosen by the artist give a general sensation of positivity and joy. They, singular and unique, refer to the diversity that embraces a globalized world, without borders.
The visitor is called on a total immersion, getting inside the artwork and walking among its elements, to recover a childlike dimension thanks to the scale difference between himself and the vertical components.
