DELOITTE PHOTO GRANT 2024
After Connections, the theme of the first edition of Deloitte’s Photo Grant in 2023, 2024 is the year dedicated to possibilities. Possibilities is in fact the theme chosen for this second edition.
This year, Deloitte’s Photo Grant wants to inspire photographers to look to the future with the mission of capturing the Possibilities of change and transformation that the present time, both personal and historical, presents to us.
The concept ‘Possibilities‘ invites us to reflect on the power of choices that each of us, individually and as part of society and humanity as a whole, can make. As individuals we are in fact faced with an infinity of possibilities, some of which could change the course of our existence, defining our destiny. But humanity itself is a stage of unlimited possibilities. Through the centuries, we have witnessed an endless expansion of our knowledge, capabilities and aspirations. However, with this growth has also come the weight of global responsibilities and challenges.
The Deloitte Foundation Photographic Award is also designed to be a stimulus to face up to the panorama of possibilities for humankind as a whole, to stimulate the choice to act, but also to renounce, in order to shape a better, equitable and sustainable future.
The challenge for the photographers taking part in Deloitte’s Photo Grant will be to encourage us to reflect on the many directions each of us could take in our lives. On the other hand, each shot in itself represents an open window to a world of creative possibilities. Through the lens of cameras, it is possible to capture not only visible reality, but also the nuances of the human imagination.
Possibilities represent the freedom to interpret and tell stories through the art of photography. This Photo Grant offers a unique opportunity for photographers to bring their ideas and creativity to life.

Deloitte Photo Grant is the new international photography competition promoted by Deloitte Italia with the patronage of the Deloitte Foundation and in collaboration with 24 ORE Cultura, the artistic direction of Denis Curti and the BlackCamera team.
The competition aims to stimulate artistic production linked to the world of photography and to promote the theme of Connections: photographers, in fact, will be asked to give a narrative and interpretation through images of what it means to be connected on a human, professional level, economic or environmental.
The Deloitte Photo Grant is structured into two categories: Reports and Open calls.
In the first one – ten personalities operating in the world of international cultural production, called Segnalatori – will nominate two unpublished photographic works each, composed of at least 40 images, taken by a photographer at their discretion. The signalers include Renata Ferri, Nathalie Herschdorfer, Matthias Harder, Erik Kessels, Antonio Carloni, Andréa Holzerr, Elisabeth Sherman, Karen McQuaid, Horacio Fernández and Claudio Composti.
A jury – made up of critics, professional photographers, museum directors, photo editors, gallery owners – will choose the winner of the first edition of the Deloitte Photo Grant, who will be rewarded with a solo show at Mudec in December 2023, accompanied by a catalog published by 24 ORE Culture, as well as with a cash contribution of €40,000.
The jury includes Guido Borsani (President Deloitte Foundation), Brandei Estes (Head of Photographs Sotheby’s London), Laura Sackett (LensCulture), Rosy Santella (International), Federica Chiocchetti (MBAL Museum), Reiner Opoku (International art agent), Timothy Persons (Board Paris Photo), Javier Vallhonrat (Contemporary Artist) as well as the curator of Mudec, Sara Rizzo and the president of the jury, Denis Curti.
The second instead includes an open call, from February 2nd to April 30th, for photographers under 35 years of age, who will have to present a project idea on the theme of the award, described both in its contents and in its implementation costs. Participants must also send a portfolio of ten images relating to the project or other works of their choice. Whoever wins this section will get a mention in the review dedicated to the winner of Segnalazioni. He will also receive €20,000 for the realization of his idea and will be able to organize his solo show in 2024, on the occasion of the second edition of the Deloitte Photo Grant.
