New Times for Other Ideas / New Ideas for Other Times by Maurizio Nannucci consists of two neon lettering in blue and red, located on the west facade of the Palazzo delle Scintille, the oldest pavilion in the previous trade fair area – opened in 1923 and designed by the architect Paolo Vietti-Violi. The work shows a spatial symmetry, because of its location, and ideal symmetry, based on the concepts of time and thought.

As a result of the artist’s study of contemporary media, the work goes beyond the material element to develop its message, inviting reflection on archetypal themes such as time and change.

Nannucci’s installation interacts with all the buildings of the surrounding architectural context: not only with the oldest pavilion of Palazzo delle Scintille, but also with the new towers in the Citylife area, suggesting to broaden our gaze to transformation occurred in the urban landscape.
